FAA Flight Training
Training in the FAA Department is conducted under either FAR Part 61 or Part 141. Under part 61 courses can be tailored to meet specific client needs.
Ground schools are conducted using both IFTA-developed material and Jeppesen Guided Flight Discovery materials, which are approved under IFTA's Part 141 certification.
A typical course consists of 254 hours of flight training conducted over a period of 9 months.
Major training milestones include first solo at around 23 hours, US Private Certificate at 89 hours, and an instrument rating at 175 hours. The course is completed with a Commercial Multiengine Instrument Certificate after 28 hours of Baron FTD and 50 hours of Beechcraft Baron flight training.
